without violence. Peace begins with everyday actions. Listening to someone with a
different opinion, refusing to participate in bullying, helping someone who is
struggling, and treating people fairly are all small examples of building peace.
Young people have an especially important role in promoting peace because they
will become the leaders, workers, educators, parents, and citizens of the future.
The relationships that young people build today can influence the kind of society
that exists tomorrow. If young people learn to communicate respectfully and solve
disagreements peacefully, they can carry those skills into adulthood.
Technology provides both opportunities and challenges for global citizenship.
Social media can connect people across countries and allow important causes to
receive attention. At the same time, it can spread misinformation, hatred, and
prejudice. Global citizens must therefore use technology responsibly. Before
sharing information, we should consider whether it is accurate and whether it

Cooperation does not require everyone to agree on everything. Instead, it
requires people to find common goals and work toward solutions together.

Independence gives people the ability to determine their own future. Freedom
allows people to make choices and express themselves. Peace creates an
environment in which those freedoms can be protected and enjoyed.
However, freedom without responsibility can create conflict. If people believe that
freedom means they can do anything without considering others, society can
become divided. Likewise, independence without respect for other people can
lead to selfishness or conflict. Therefore, true independence must be connected
to responsibility, and true freedom must be connected to respect.
The sacrifices of previous generations teach us that freedom should never be
taken for granted. The freedoms we have today were shaped by people who
