          Introduction (Yenna):
          Emily Kim, aka Maangchi, is a Korean-American youtuber and author notable for producing
          thousands of cooking videos centered on Korean cuisine. Her channel quickly grew to popularity
          because of her upbeat attitude and strict adherence to traditional, homemade Korean recipes. Along
          with her youtube career and prompted by her channel’s success, she wrote two best-selling books.
          Kim published her first cookbook in 2015, titled Maangchi’s Real Korean Cooking. She even
          published Maangchi’s Big Book Of Korean Cooking with co-author Martha Rose Schulman and
          publisher Rux Martin in 2019.

          She believes Korean food embodies generosity, innovation, patience, compassion, frugality, practi-
          cality, flexibility and resourcefulness. Maangchi tries her best to keep Korean culture alive through
          cooking. The best part of her meals are that they are homely and comforting to people of all back-
          grounds. As a self-made chef, Maangchi goes with the flow and the history of recipes passed down
          from past Korean generations. From Korean lunch boxes named “doshilak” to pasta, Maangchi
          never fails to add a Korean twist.
